Privacy Policy

Personal data (hereinafter referred to as “data”) is processed by us only as necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its contents and the services offered there.

In accordance with Article 4, Number 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”), “processing” means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, with or without the aid of automated procedures, such as the collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or any other form of provision, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction.

With the following privacy policy, we inform you particularly about the type, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis for the processing of personal data, insofar as we decide, either alone or in conjunction with others, on the purposes and means of processing. Additionally, we inform you below about the third-party components we use for optimization purposes and to enhance the quality of use, insofar as third parties process data under their own responsibility.

Our privacy policy is structured as follows:

II. Rights of users and data subjects

Regarding the data processing described in more detail below, users and data subjects have the right:

III. Information on data processing

Your data processed when using our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for storage ceases to apply, provided that there are no legal retention obligations and unless otherwise specified in individual data processing procedures.

Server Data

For technical reasons, particularly to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted by your internet browser to us or to our webspace provider. These so-called server log files include, among other things, the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you accessed our website (referrer URL), the page(s) of our website you visit, the date and time of the respective access, as well as the IP address of the internet connection from which the use of our website occurs.

These collected data are stored temporarily, but not in conjunction with other personal data.

This storage is based on the legal grounds of Article 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the stability, functionality, and security of our website.

The data will be deleted after seven days at the latest, provided that no further retention is necessary for evidentiary purposes. Otherwise, the data will be excluded from deletion until the final resolution of an incident.

Cookies

a) Session Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies placed and stored on your device by your internet browser. These cookies process certain information about you, such as your browser data, location data, or your IP address.

This processing makes our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure by enabling, for example, the display of our website in different languages or the availability of a shopping cart function.

The legal basis for this processing is Article 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, provided that these cookies are used for contract initiation or fulfillment.

If the processing does not serve contract initiation or fulfillment, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. The legal basis for this is Article 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.

b) Third-Party Cookies

If applicable, cookies from partner companies with whom we cooperate for advertising, analysis, or the functionality of our website may also be used.

Details on these, including the purposes and legal bases of such third-party cookies, are provided in the information below.

c) Elimination Option

You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser settings. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored at any time. The necessary steps and measures depend on the browser you are using. If you have questions, please consult the help function or the documentation of your browser or contact its manufacturer or support. For Flash cookies, processing cannot be prevented via the browser settings. Instead, you must modify the settings of your Flash player. The necessary steps and measures depend on the Flash player you are using. If you have questions, please consult the help function or documentation of your Flash player or contact its manufacturer or user support.

If you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, this may result in not being able to use all the functions of our website to their full extent.

Social Media Links via Graphics or Text Links

We also promote presences on the following social networks on our website. The integration is done via a linked graphic of the respective network. The use of this linked graphic prevents a connection to the respective social network server from being automatically established when visiting a website that features a social media promotion. Only by clicking on the respective graphic will you be redirected to the service of the respective social network.

After redirection, the respective network collects information about the user. It cannot be excluded that data collected in this way may be processed in the USA.

This data includes, for example, the IP address, date, time, and page visited. If the user is logged into their social network account at that time, the network operator can assign the information of the specific visit to the user’s personal account. If the user interacts via a “Share” button of the network, this information may be stored in the user’s account and potentially published. If the user wants to prevent this direct association of the information collected with their account, they must log out before clicking the graphic. It is also possible to configure the account settings accordingly.

The following social networks are linked on our website:

Facebook

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as “Google”).

By its certification under the EU-US Privacy Shield (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active), Google guarantees that it complies with EU data protection regulations even when processing data in the USA.

The Google Analytics service is used to analyze user behavior on our website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in analyzing, optimizing, and economically operating our website.

Usage and user-related information, such as the IP address, location, time, or frequency of visits to our website, are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, we use Google Analytics with the anonymization function. This means Google shortens the IP address within the EU or the EEA before transmitting it.

Google then uses this data to provide us with reports on the usage of our website and other services related to internet use.

Google states that your IP address will not be combined with other data. You can find further privacy information from Google here: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners

Google also offers a browser add-on to opt-out of data collection: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de, which provides you with more control over the data collected by Google Analytics when visiting our website.

The add-on informs the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that information about the visit to our website should not be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, this does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or other web analytics services. You can learn more about which additional web analytics services we use in this privacy policy.

YouTube

We integrate YouTube into our website. This is a video portal operated by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, hereafter referred to as “YouTube.”

YouTube is a subsidiary of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereafter referred to as “Google.”

Through its certification under the EU-US Privacy Shield
(https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active), Google guarantees that EU data protection regulations are respected, even when processing data in the USA.

We use YouTube with the “extended data protection mode” to show you videos. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website. According to YouTube, the “extended data protection mode” means that the data described below is only transmitted to YouTube’s server if you actually start a video.

Without this “extended data protection,” a connection to the YouTube server in the USA is established as soon as you access a page of our website that contains an embedded YouTube video.

This connection is required to display the video on your internet browser. In this process, YouTube registers at least your IP address, the date and time, and the web page you visited. In addition, a connection to the Google “DoubleClick” advertising network is established.

If you are logged into YouTube, YouTube assigns the connection information to your YouTube account. If you want to prevent this, you must log out of YouTube before visiting our website or adjust the settings in your YouTube account.

For functionality purposes and to analyze user behavior, YouTube stores cookies on your device via your browser. If you do not agree with this processing, you can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser. More information about cookies can be found under “Cookies.”

Further information about the collection and use of data, as well as your rights and protection options, can be found in Google’s privacy policy at:
https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Cookiebot

We use Cookiebot as a “cookie banner.” Cookiebot is a product of Cybot A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark, hereinafter referred to as “Cybot.”

Through the Cookiebot function, we inform users about the use of cookies on the website and allow them to make a decision regarding their use.

If the user consents to the use of cookies, the following data is automatically recorded by Cybot:

  • The anonymized IP address of the user;
  • The date and time of consent;
  • The browser user agent of the end user;
  • The provider’s URL;
  • An anonymous, random, and encrypted key;
  • The user’s approved cookies (cookie status), which serves as proof of consent.

The encrypted key and cookie status are stored via a cookie on the user’s device to ensure the cookie status is maintained for future visits. This cookie is automatically deleted after 12 months.

The legal basis for this is Article 6, paragraph 1, point (f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring the user-friendliness of the website and complying with GDPR legal requirements.

Users can prevent or stop the installation and storage of cookies at any time through their browser settings.
